Community Action

Public Safety

Madison Park Development Corporation's Public Safety Committee was formed in 2003 when crime was on the rise in the community after over five years of declining violence. MPDC mobilized residents and community stakeholders to sit down with the police and brainstorm strategies to respond.

Recently, our Community Action team launched a new anti-violence campaign, Village in Progress, as a response by those invested in the community to continue the commitment to make violence an unacceptable action.

In 2013, Madison Park Development Corporation was awarded a multi-year grant from the Boston Public Health Commission.

The STRYVE (Striving To Reduce Youth Violence Everywhere) grant supports our work in creating a violence prevention model through workforce development efforts.

MPDC has received national recognition for its innovative community-police partnership between local residents and law enforcement officials and was awarded the MetLife Community Policing Partnership Award.  View the case study here.

National Night Out
