Recap: Our Summer Building BBQ

On Friday, July 19th, the organizations that call 184 Dudley Street home came together to enjoy an afternoon filled with good conversation and delicious food.  Our receptionist, Amanda, shares what she experienced at the event below...

The smell of barbeque chicken, burgers, and hot dogs lingered in the air on the third floor during the “Building BBQ” on Friday, July 19th at Hibernian Hall.  Tenants of 184 Dudley Street became friendly with each other while sitting down and enjoying some great food -- many dishes were made by the tenants!

As I walked into the ballroom I saw handshakes, hugs, and heard a lot of laughter. I was very pleased and excited to see everyone communicating over good comfort food. As music played in the background conversations between Trinity Management, Osiris, Mothers for Justice and Equality, Next Street, and Madison Park could be heard. There were debates about music, clothes, and how to pronounce Spanish words.  By the way, I learned a couple of Spanish words thanks to some of the workers at Trinity.  It was such a positive environment!

I had the opportunity to put faces with names and introduce myself to our building neighbors. As people conversed and dug into their plates they also played BINGO. Everyone learned things about one another and I noticed a lot of people shared commonalities -- especially around the topic of food.

The “Building BBQ” was a success and I truly enjoyed meeting and getting to know about the different businesses and organizations, but more importantly the great people that work for them.

Hasta la próxima vez!
