Earlier this month staff at MPDC took part in a panel discussion with over 30 youth workers as part of an orientation for our summer employment program.

Panelists shared stories about their career pathing and how education helped them achieve certain goals in life. Representatives from local colleges including Cambridge College, Roxbury Community College, and Springfield College spoke with the teens and provided helpful tips and information on the different schools.  Three of our staff members who attended Florida A&M University and Howard University also led a Q&A session with the teens about college life at an HBCU.

As a follow-up to the panel discussion, teens have been asked to keep a journal this summer to chronicle how their work experiences have influenced their thoughts about education.  If you'd like to see more photos from the event, visit our Flickr album here.
