In response to recent shooting incidents in the Orchard Gardens Estates community, residents and stakeholders of Orchard Gardens hosted a community brunch to kick off the anti-violence campaign, Village in Progress, on Saturday, March 15th.

The Village in Progress campaign is a response by those invested in the community to continue the commitment to make violence an unacceptable action.

Madison Park Development Corporation’s Vice President of Programs, Yun-Ju Choi, praised the campaign saying, “The goal of our Village in Progress campaign is to ignite action in the community and empower our residents to identify solutions to rebuild their village.”

During the event, community-based organizations came together to highlight work that has been done over the past few years to help make Orchard Gardens a safer community for residents.  They also developed strategies that residents, stakeholders, law enforcement officials, and political figures can implement to address concerns around public safety.
