My Summer as a Youth Worker

It's hard to believe that September is here already!  It seems like only yesterday when over 30 youth arrived at MPDC to begin the Summer Youth Employment Program.  Our youth workers were a valuable part of office life here at MPDC this summer.  They tapped into their office skills to assist MPDC staff with various projects, worked with Community Action to organize a fabulous National Night Out, and even had time to build a garden behind 6 Kenilworth!  One youth worker, Gabriel Voyard, shared a personal account of what working at MPDC this summer meant to her:

"Spending my summer as a youth employee at Madison Park Development Corporation was a great experience for me.  During my time here, I was able to learn a lot of information that will help me make the best decisions for my future, and become more proficient in the skills that I have entered the program with.  Being assigned to assist with projects around the office has allowed me to meet new people and learn about the specifics of their jobs.   I was excited to explore the different types of tasks many employees have and later perform them on my own.   Overall, I had a great summer at MPDC and I look forward to applying again for next year!"

Everyone at MPDC wishes all the teenagers who joined us this summer a productive school year.  We hope to see them all again next summer!
