MPDC and Nuestra Share Policy Agenda with Elected Officials at Annual Doughnuts with Delegates

Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz, Senator Linda Dorcena Forry, Representative Byron Rushing, and staff representing State Representative Gloria Fox, State Representative Evandro Carvalho, Senator Edward Markey, Mayor Martin Walsh and Councilor Michael Flaherty participated in our annual Doughnuts with Delegates legislative breakfast hosted along with Nuestra Comunidad on Feb. 29 at Hibernian Hall in Roxbury.  Roxbury leaders shared a seven-point community development policy agenda, developed by the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations (MACDC), MPDC and NCD, which includes:

  • Securing $2.5 million annually for the Small Business Technical Assistance Program;
  • Securing $120 million annually for the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program;
  • Increasing funding for Foreclosure Prevention to $3.65 million;
  • Supporting Affordable Housing;
  • Endorsing Community Preservation Actfor November 2016 ballot in Boston;
  • Supporting Justice Reinvestment Act - an act to increase neighborhood safety and opportunity
