Moving day for HOPE homeowners

Mayor Thomas M. Menino yesterday welcomed first-time homeowners with housewarming gifts as they settled into their new Eustis Street residences as part of the Orchard HOPE VI Redevelopment effort.

The third and final phase of the effort consisted of moving families, who are all first-time buyers and low-income, into five two-bedroom attached townhouses on Dudley Street and 15 three-bedroom units on Eustis and Adams streets in Roxbury. All of the units are energy efficient, and 16 are equipped with solar panels.
