Applications Now Being Accepted for the 2010 Danette Jones Scholarship

Madison Park Development Corporation is pleased to offer the 2010 Danette Jones Scholarship to young people in Roxbury. The scholarship provides recipients with $500, which can be used for any college-related expenses, from computers to textbooks to dorm supplies. Applicants should be resident of the Madison Park community or the Lower Roxbury area, high school seniors who are progressing toward graduation in 2010 with plans to enter a two- or four-year college in the fall, show a strong commitment to pursuing a bachelor’s or associate’s degree, and demonstrate involvement in community service and dedication to continuing community service throughout college.

The scholarship honors Ms. Danette Jones, who served as the second executive director of MPDC, from 1988 to 1998, expanding its housing development programs, creating the cultural economic development collaborative, and launching its human capital campaigns.
